All Service Electric is not just a union contractor. It is a Women's Business Enterprise. The president is Joe's sister-in-law, Donna Gathard. Joe's wife, MaryEllen is an active staff member, one of some fifteen persons on regular payroll, some of whom have been with the company for as long as 19 years. Of course, Joe and MaryEllen's children Nicole and Justin both have spent summers working in the firm.
