In the early 20s, just before the Great Depression, Otto A. Lips came to the United States to take part in the American dream and start his own business. The youngest of six sons, Otto had a strong work ethic and a desire to service the community. His only son, Effingham Hyatt Lips, came to work for the business in the early 70s and became president in the early 80s. Raymond Otto Lips, Effingham’s only son, came to work for the business in the 80s and took over as president in 1988. Continuing the family tradition, Raymonds only son Brian Douglas Lips joined the company in 1999. Today, the business continues it’s long tradition of electrical contracting services and has also added a new focus on generator installation. Increased catastrophic weather conditions have driven many residents to seek adding generators to their homes and businesses.
